Not at all! My father started an 80-10-10 intentional community on a fruit farm in the jungly area of the Big Island of Hawaii. The members are somewhat transient, but usually there’s about ten or fifteen people there at any given time. There’s no cooked food allowed on the property; it’s sort of an oasis, you could say. We don’t try to control what you do off-property, but we tried to include members who shared our interest in low-fat raw veganism.
So, my dad lives in Hawaii, but my mom lives in Pittsburgh. I didn’t want to have to permanently live with either (because I love them both, not because I dislike them…) so we found that the best length of time to spend at each place was about three months.
Thanks for your interest! :D
